As Dreams on the Pond” is China’s first Jiangnan Ancient Canal cultural live-action performance, the performance from the Shangtang River to the Huanxi Yongning Bridge Yaojiaba River, the performance route throughout a total of 5.2 kilometers.
The project integrates boat cruises, drama and opera, singing, dancing, poetry and music performances, and technological showgrounds. It fully explores the three major cultural kernels of canal culture, market culture and folk culture, breaks through the traditional forms of stage performances, and interprets historical stories and shows the Shangtang River in the form of a brand-new “progressive performance and immersive viewing”. The “Seven Canals and Thirteen Scenic Spots” will recreate the former prosperity of the Shangtang Canal, allowing visitors to enjoy a different kind of canal culture feast.
The project is an important coordinate of the pilot (cultivation) city of Zhejiang Province at night, which will make positive contribution to the development of regional night tourism economy, boost the “Arch-Creating Prosperity” night economic revitalization action, and promote the brand of “Night Tour”. Meanwhile, the project is a key link in the construction of the Grand Canal National Cultural Park, which plays an important role in the discovery and publicity of canal culture and the promotion of the integrated development of the Grand Canal Culture and Tourism, and will further accelerate the construction of the model area of the Grand Canal National Cultural Park, and strive to realize the new butterfly transformation of the millennium vein of culture.
